Appetite 4 Change

DCH have been working with Love Local Food education and run a recent project called “Appetite 4 change”.

Funding for this project was partially secured via the Exeter city council , Rugby world cup legacy monies , the brief to work in marginalised communities in an innovative way to encourage improved health and well- being.

We  ran projects in Beacon Heath, Wonford, Newcourt/ Rydons where local residents were invited on a farm visit to West Town to see a working organic farm, learn more about  how food is grown and welfare standards for rearing animals for meat.

We ran a cooking activity and participants prepared a meal using locally sourced ingredients, and were encouraged to make a health pledge  in clay which would form part of a sculpture to be exhibited in city locations.
